WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES
There are 2 wildlife sanctuaries which are part of the total area conserved. They provide to be a natural habitat for flora and fauna of the vicinity and are also a haven for study and research.
SATPARA (SKARDU)
The Satpara sanctuary is spread over 311 Sq Km of land and habituates Ibex, Snow Leopard, wolf, and a number of bird species.

NALTER (GILGIT)
- Naltar Wildlife Sanctuary covers 272 sq km of the Naltar Valley to its juncture with the Hunza River, and is contiguous with the Pakora and Sherqila Game Reserves. A small population of Astor Markhor is found in the vicinity along with Snow Leopard and Ibex.
