Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Visited Forest Park Skardu

Visit of Chief Secretary, Gilgit Baltistan to the Forest Park Skardu. CS appreciated the projects, especially the new outdoor gym, undertaken by the Forest Department in collaboration with WHO and District Administration, and gave valuable suggestions for the further improvement of the park. He also planted a kail sapling, partaking in the ongoing clean and green Pakistan campaign.

Secretary  Forest’s Wildlife & Environment lead the green Rama initiative with divisional; Forest Team Astore. Clean and Green Forest is the key for progressive Tourism and eco friendly living.

Wildlife Photography Competition concluded at KIU.

The Parks & Wildlife Department organized the competition of Wildlife Photography. In this Regard 70 participants showed their skills and 50 made it to the selected gallery at KIU. The top position holders received prices in cash and their work was acknowledged by public. The department aims to conduct similar events to extract the talent among youth and bolster the wildlife protection. The two best compiled Books ” Feathers” and “Atlas” was also introduced to public. The books are the extensive work of the department to disseminate the knowledge about wildlife species in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Forest’s ,Parks & Wildlife Department organized an event at KIU to Celebrate the world Environmental Day. The Youth was briefed about the impact of Green economy , climate change and appropriate measurements taken at mass scale across the region and Country. The worthy Secretary forest Distributed the certificates among the hardworking and persistent staff for their contribution in uplifting of the department. The event also unleashed the opening of two classified books under the illustrious patronage of Wildlife Department. The Position holders received their Checks for capturing majestic Photos of Bird Species.

Mass Livestock Vaccination Campaign started in GB under “Revival of Wildlife Resources in GB”

Livestock vaccination campaign carried out by Parks and wildlife Division Baltistan at Kachura  Gaziabad on 07-06-2022 under Tbttp  wildlife  component ( Revival of Wildlife Resources in GB) with the help of Livestock and Dairy Development  department  and community helpers. Vaccinated 1500 animals during this campaign.

The purpose of this campaign was to improve the livelihood of communities and to reduce and control the diseases of livestock through  vaccination against the diseases transmitted from livestock to wildlife.

Honorable Senior Minister Forest, Wildlife & Environment GB, Raja Zakirya Khan Maqpoon Senior Minister Trade, Commerce& Industries Col. R Ubeed Ullah baig , Dr Zakir Hussain CCF Forest, Parks & Wildlife GB and Mr Ijalal Ahmad CF Wildlife& Parks  GB visited Community Planation site Khyber under 10BTTP lift irrigation Project ( AKAH) planted Poplar trees at the site. The community representatives briefed the Honorable Ministers about the project and future strategy.  Besides, the Honorable Ministers also visited GLOF-II project site Hussani on 16th May 2022.
